Places Between Us is a public space project that connects movement and visual elements of the urban environment with places designed for relaxation. It explores the importance of rest in the context of today's fast-paced times and hectic city life.
Places Among Us is a journey through the urban ecosystem, which beats at an accelerated pace and does not allow us to catch our breath. These are intersections, stops, and transfer stations that momentarily transform into an ocean of possibilities, where time flows like jellyfish carried by the sea current. Places Between Us is a way to relax and transform everyday places into a sensory experience. It invites you to slow down and perceive the present moment through movement that gently enters the space, opening it up to new sensibilities and imagination.
The project presents an original and innovative form of contemporary movement art in public space. It is based on research by choreographer Natálie Vacková and inspired by Mina Tanaka's Body Weather method, which explores the dialogue between the body and its environment. Places Between Us are created for specific locations, where they enter gently without disrupting their normal rhythm.
The project was created with the support of: Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Faculty of Music and Dance of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, State Fund for Culture HAMU, ALT@RT z.ú., TERÉN – Field for Performing Arts.
