About the event
The production We Stand in Emotion is a movement and music expansion into the world of funeral rituals, the tradition of weepers and mourners, in the context of history and the present. It is based on research, which is worked through dance and theatre in the form of a workshop.
What are the prerequisites to become a professional mourner? What all is part of the expression vocabulary of a mourner? How do you balance the line between humour and sadness in the performances of funeral clowns? To what extent can the speeches of professional mourners seem believable? In what ways can we show participation without being personally affected by the pain?
