Liminal Roller Disco
Alyssa Dillard's project
Roller skates, music and a space that transforms. Liminal Roller Disco is a dance session that opens up space for shared movement, improvisation and appropriation of space through the body.
The connection between Liminal Disco and Galaxie Cultural Station is not accidental. The project is based on reclaiming spaces that were not originally intended for us. Just as we, together with other partners, breathed new life into an abandoned multiplex, this event will transform the foyer into a lively space of movement for a few hours.
The evening program follows Jitka Sara Páníková's SLIP GRIP, which uses roller skates to map the fine line between control and its loss. While the performance follows the individual search for balance, Liminal Roller Disco expands this experience to a collective level.
Everyone is welcome to join in – with or without their own skates. A limited number of skates will be available for loan.
