The renowned queer platform PINKBUS is coming to Galaxie for the first time! 

In collaboration with DanceConnected and the Dejvické Theater, we’re bringing you an evening full of political satire, drag, and folklore, capped off with a traditional Slovak celebration. Come support Slovak culture in Prague.

It began as an evening created in direct response to the destructive actions of the Slovak Ministry of Culture under the leadership of Martina Šimkovičová and Lukáš Machala. Gradually, it evolved into a cathartic manifesto of freedom—a cabaret “demonstration” that clearly and proudly declares that we must not let our culture be taken away from us.

We belong to Slovak culture. We ARE Slovak culture. Whether MADAM likes it or not. Let’s change traditions together!

It’s time for a celebration, because Slovak culture is uniquely Slovak and nothing else. At a time when traditional values, the countryside, and folklore are pitted against queer people or city dwellers, the nation is seeking common ground and striving for understanding between the two camps.

This evening will be about true connection, so in addition to our regular lineup, you can also look forward to the Šarvanci folk ensemble, who will ensure a genuine Slovak celebration.

MARTIN TALAGA is a Slovak dancer and choreographer based in Prague. In 2016, he co-founded the PINKBUS Platform (formerly PLAYboyz) with Marek Zelinka. He specializes in physical theater, contemporary dance, performance art, and queer art.

He has collaborated with choreographers and directors in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Hungary, the United States, and other countries. His works have been presented at numerous festivals and venues both domestically and internationally.

For the production SOMA, he received the Discovery of the Year and Dance Production of the Year awards at the 2018 Czech Dance Platform. The PINKBUS project received the Next Wave 2021 Festival Honor. His solo piece The Headless Mule earned him a nomination for the Thalia Award.

In 2025, he won the Thalia Award in the alternative theater category for his artistic performance as the drag queen Venice in the curated evening PINKBUS: Slovenský a žiadny iný.

J. SINGER is a dashing young man with an embossed belt, but also a girl who wanders the mountains and cries. He has been a member of a folk ensemble since childhood, while also pursuing performance art, lip-syncing, and vogue. He blends these influences in his performances, which incorporate elements of the bizarre, a diva touch, sex appeal, and rebellion.

He launched his career at the Tepláreň cabarets in Bratislava, but has also performed at other events and festivals in Slovakia and abroad. He has been performing with the PINKBUS platform since the launch of the show Slovenský a žiadny iný.
