About the event
The Lion's Pit UNLIMITED by the POCKETART collective is an extraordinary dance meeting of professional dancers with seniors and the general public, including the Dance Well project community. The performance follows the original duet by Sabina Bočková and Johana Pocková, from which a new site-specific version is created with each performance. It is formed during an intensive workshop and always reflects the uniqueness of the group involved and the specific location.
The performance, with its heightened emotional charge, high movement intensity and live original music by Lukáš Palán, addresses manipulation, power and polarization in society under the influence of the media and populism. In a form that is both playful and accessible, it opens a dialogue about current social issues.
Bringing the work into a public space and involving people of all ages and experiences underscores the power of dance as a participatory art form. The performance culminates in an invitation to the audience into the Galaxie building, symbolically connecting the public space with the newly revitalized cultural station.
