Solos for the Galaxie

Three solos about loss and care

How do you give a new dimension to what already existed? How do you create something new from the imprint of the old? How can you change the meaning when the form remains the same? And what can come from a single source? The 4 + 4 Days in Motion festival has been answering these questions for 30 years, and the same questions are also asked by three dance solos of the Temporary Collective platform performed by their youngest members - David Králík, Emma Fiala and Natalie Tun. The three solos not only make these questions present, but are based on the idea of whether, by returning and working with materials from the past and creating from a single source, or recycling and upcycling, it is possible to reconsider working methods and thus focus on sustainability topics on a personal, professional and environmental level. David Králík, Emma Fiala, Natalie Tun work with movement material from Tereza Ondrová's last solo entitled Last Dance and her key dance strength - which is the ability to pay fundamental attention to detail and minimalist gestures. Their performances SÓLA PRO GALAXII are created in direct connection and in dialogue with the original material, but are conceived as an independent artistic statement.

Realized in cooperation with the 4 + 4 Days in Motion festival, which has been opening questions of transformation, duration and new readings of art forms for 30 years. The 4 + 4 Days in Motion festival will officially open the new cultural station Galaxie on September 19th, which revives the former multiplex cinema in Hájí.
