At Galaxie Cultural Station, we are developing a long-term program focused on contemporary dance as a tool for bringing people together, sharing experiences, and engaging with the local space and community. We are part of the transformation of a former multiplex cinema in Prague’s Jižní Město district into a vibrant cultural center that connects professional artistic creation with the daily lives of people in this neighborhood.

The program is developed in dialogue with the Galaxie space, its history, and the current needs of the surrounding community. We present dance and movement performances, support the creation of new productions, and organize artist residencies, workshops, discussions, and site-specific formats that respond to the specific context of the location. We view dance as an open language capable of speaking to different generations, experiences, and bodies.

In collaboration with Galaxie’s other partners—Dejvické divadlo, Divadlo Minor, DAMU, and 4+4 Days in Motion—as well as the independent arts scene, we create a space for creative individuals, audiences, and the local community to come together. We strive to make Galaxie a place where dance is not confined to the auditorium but naturally enters public space, everyday life, and shared existence.

The Galaxie Cultural Station launched its program in September 2025.
