Festival NEnásilí otevírá téma respektující výchovy

Apr 14, 2026

How to raise children without physical and psychological violence at a time when society is reevaluating traditional approaches to parenting? The NON-VIOLENCE Festival, which will take place in Galaxia from April 17 to 25, 2026, addresses this question.

The multi-genre event is being prepared by the Minor Theatre in cooperation with the LOCIKA Centre, and the Dejvické Theatre, 4 dny and DanceConnected will also join the programme. The festival is being created in connection with the recent legislative change enshrining the right of children to grow up without corporal punishment. It will combine artistic and professional perspectives, offering inspiration and support to parents, teachers and children.

" Visitors will not be mentored or moralized. We have created a varied program for children and adults - during performances, workshops, concerts and discussions, they can be inspired, share experiences and laugh together ," says Minoru dramaturg Iva Kopecká .

The Minor Theatre will present an interactive production from its own repertoire, the Family Trainer , in which the audience can find their own solutions to typical family situations in a prepared story. In addition, it produces an author's reading by Marie Doležalová for children , a concert by Mucha , a talk show by Rodičovské fuck-ups with Marie Doležalová and guests ( Petra Nesvačilová and Halka Jeřábek Třešňáková with Tomáš Jeřábek), the performances Do hajan! by the DRAK Theatre , Ten Twenty, Brother in the Belly! by the Damúza Studio , and the improvised performance Svedomitě nepripreveni by the ensemble My kluci co spolu chodíme .

The LOCIKA Center will provide the professional part of the festival - it will offer a discussion on Kind Parenting , preventive lectures for elementary school students, and consultation facilities for parents, including practical recommendations and contacts for professional help.

The Dejvické Theatre will present a production of Facka, inspired by true stories, and will be accompanied by a discussion with the creators, which will open up sensitive topics of violence from an artistic and social perspective. Together with Minor, it will also offer visitors a staged reading of Varroaza .

Festival 4+4 days in motion will contribute to the festival theme by presenting the award-winning Spanish performance Rebota, Rebota y en tu cara explota , which uncompromisingly addresses the topic of violence against women. The production by Agnés Mateus and Quim Tarrida was created as a response to the alarming reality of femicide and combines a physically intense statement with irony and dark humor.

DanceConnected, in collaboration with the Feet Forward festival artists and Michaela Kadlčíková and Matyáš Ramba, will focus on movement workshops for children and parents and an intergenerational dance studio that support sharing, communication, and building relationships through movement.
