Markéta Perroud
After graduating from the Prague Dance Conservatory in 1990, she worked as a professional dancer with Pavel Šmok’s Prague Chamber Ballet and collaborated on numerous independent artistic projects both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
In 1997, she became a soloist with the renowned contemporary dance company of the Lyon Opera Ballet in France, where she performed until 2010. She holds the French State Diploma in Dance Pedagogy and also studied cultural management in Lyon in 2009–2010.
Since 2010, she has been closely associated with the organization Tanec Praha – initially as a member of the Artistic Board, later as Artistic Co-director of the TANEC PRAHA Festival (2011–January 2024) and of the entire organization (2012–January 2024). She played a key role in developing its international relations and building long-term collaborations with artists from both the Czech Republic and abroad. From May 2021 to September 2023, she also served as Artistic Director of the PONEC Theatre.
She has been involved in numerous European projects, including Aerowaves, EDN – European Dance Development Network, Dance Transit Praha.Dresden.Leipzig, Dancing Museums, Shape It, Big Pulse Dance Alliance, Dance Well, and others.
Since 2024, she has been actively contributing to the development of the DanceConnected platform, where she serves as Vice-Chair. She also works as an independent curator and collaborates with dance artists and organizations to support the development of their international networks.
She is a recipient of the Thalia Award (1995) and a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, 2015).
